How to make Elsa is my Login manager ? in Bodhi.

I have yet to play with elsa, I built it up so I could play around with it this weekend - if you get it working please post here what you did, otherwise I'll post my success (or failure) in a few days

Yes it's Entrance, it's a shame was the most beautiful of Login Manager.
For Elsa , I read that works well, including automatic entrance.

Any word on this??? I had it working at one point with PCLinuxOS I believe at one point, It worked somewhat, but it had a problem with the gnome-keyring if memory serves me right. I'd love to try it again.

So far I tried out installing Elsa. The install doesn't give the usual dialog saying which DM should it use. I could not get it to replace LXDM no matter what I did. I got to a standard console prompt, and tried launching Elsa directly as root, but then Elsa crashed and sent me back to the prompt. I think this has something to do with Ubuntu using Upstart to control the boot process. Fortunately LXDM wasn't too hard to reset. I had this working in PCLinuxOS but I don't remember exactly what I did. I'll keep working on this, just thought I'd update on my progress.

Elsa is broken at the moment. I tried to compile it myself from upstream. Worked one time. Now the last of couple of days there were Elsa-updates upstream, so I updated like usual with svn up. Now Elsa won't compile anymore:

Hi Vistaus

The problem is actually with the version of Elementary that you have on your system. The 'elm_object_text_set()' function, which Elsa wants to use, is a replacement for other deprecated functions. It does not appear that this function is in the version of Elementary from the Bodhi repository.

Notwithstanding Jeff and the Bodhi teams huge efforts in packaging software, Enlightenment and the EFL are fast moving targets as the developers aim to get E17 to release status. Some things will remain broken till libraries and software can catch up with each other.

@Bo: That's not the problem at all. I compile Elementary from SVN upstrem, so I always have the latest version. So it really is Elsa itself who's broken.

Nver mind, it turned out to be some other problem. It compiles again.

But now when I try to start it, it says "A display is required!", but obviously, I'm in E17 so I do have a display server running. What could the problem be?

To start testing you need to disable LXDM from loading when you boot up. To do this rename '/etc/init/lxdm.conf' to '/etc/init/lxdm.disabled' and reboot.

Once you have logged in using the shell login (as the LXDM should not have started) you can start Elsa from the command line 'sudo elsa'

Let us know if this works as I am keen to try as well.

I must say: IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!!! It even has an animating flip clock! Will post some pictures later.
But unfortanetly, it's broken. After logging in, it starts the E17-splash. But as System check done, it falls back to the login screen and you can't login anymore.
