Not sure if this is the right place to bring this up but I will anyway:

 

Will the 3.1 release (24Aug) have implemented the fix (changing the compression) suggested in this thread: http://forums.bodhil...ok/#entry89667?

 

"It has been brought up by a user in IRC that the newer xz compression we are using to decrease disc sizes may be causing the installer to perform very slowly (and even lock up) on old systems. Likely going to move away from that compression method for the legacy ISO image with the fall 3.1.0 release."

Yes. Changing the compression type is on my 3.1.0 TODO list, likely for all the releases as it does speed up install times. Will keep it just compressed enough to fit on a CD.
