This evening I have disabled the email validation we have required on the forums for the last few months. The number of users who never validate their accounts is staggering. I am not sure if we will ever get off of the black list due to the security issue we had late last year, so I feel manually removing accounts / spam posts that slip through the security we have is a better option than forcing new folks to wait to ask their questions in our community.

That brings me to a second point - if you are currently an active member of our forum community and would be interested in becoming a moderator to help combat any extra spam this change might cause please drop me a private message.
