Arrangement of icons in "Everything Launcher"

Best Answer The waiter, 04 January 2017 - 06:06 PM

Yea, it is "solved", in way you received the answer. I have looked at last E version released with PCLOS and no, e-devs did not improve Everything module. Frankly, I never wanted the feature you need, but I understand it. Anyway, what I can suggest you is little bit off topic, but: there are many ways how to launch your favorite apps quickly.

1. adding apps to the IBar

2. adding apps to the favorite menu

3. key shortcut for launching the app.

I am sure I forgot at least one more method :)

Stefan

EDIT:

4. weird method of renaming apps the way they will be on the position in Everything you want. But you have to disable sorting by usage. You need to sort by name (no sorting on the picture). Just an idea...

Hello to everybody who's reading this post !

I would like to know if it's possible to organize manually the icons in the Everything Launcher : The way they set themselves whatever the option I choose in the options of the settings of the Everything Launcher doesn't satisfy me.

I want that the three applications I use the most are in the upper-left corner, the case bellow this one, and on his right. So I have to press the less key possible to get them. But I don't know if it's possible... I'm under Bodhi 3 and I don't really want to go under Bodhi 4 (if it would be a solution) because I really love Ecomorph and I've seen that it wasn't here anymore. :(

Thank you and I wish you all an happy new year ! :D

May our frame-rates be high and our temperatures low !

A big thank you to everyone who contributes to Bodhi Linux

The everything launcher automatically sorts the things you launch most often to the top left. There is not a manual way to arrange the launchers in any version of Moksha.

I guess it at least an idea to put aside for later. ^_^

I don't know if I can write "SOLVED" in the title...

What do you think of that ?c

Hey, your method isn't that bad ! :)

I fact, I just don't know how to "rename" an app.   Of course it'll be kinda ugly, but I don't care.

Your others suggestion are noted, in case of I need something else.

With regards...

Let's say we want to have Galculator on the first position, Goldendict the right and Midori below. At first, set no sorting, popup everything and look at your apps names. Now you have to rename your 3 apps desktop files in /usr/share/applications. Use a text editor you like but need to be open with root privileges. Change name item in that files.

This is the screenshot here:

Restart Moksha and Enjoy:)

Of course be aware, once you install app with name with first letter lower in alphabet, the magic dissapears :)
