Hi.  Using fully updated Bodhi 4.  I'm trying to install Google Chrome, which I prefer over Chromium, mostly for cosmetic reasons and for what seems to me better compatibility with video playback.

I download the .deb file from Google, click on it, gdebi begins, I click on "Install Package," and nothing happens.  It just dies.  Any suggestions?  Many thanks, as always.

A big thank you to everyone who contributes to Bodhi Linux

Try to use sudo gdebi package_name or sudo dpkg -i package_name in terminal. Sorry I have no idea why it does not work with gdebi gui. Why not trying to reinstall gdebi package. Just an idea...

You should have used apt-get dist-upgrade or the eepDater app. Now you are missing a new package called

gdebi-bodhi-launcher

Please install this with the following command

sudo apt-get install gdebi-bodhi-launcher

Now gdebi should work as expected.

Enjoy,

Charles

Note, too, that if you're on a 32-bit system, Chrome is officially unsupported. Official support only for 64-bit.
