Welcome to the forums.

Did you allow updates during the installation?

Enjoy,

Charles

NB: After I posted here the installation is finished but it took long time at this last step.

Hi,

I am Ubuntu user since 5.04. I have Windows10/Ubuntu16.04/Debian9 multi boot (UEFI) on my Lenovo G50-45 Laptop.

I have downloaded Bodhi Linux 4.2.0 iso, made bootable usb using Ubuntu Start up Disck Creator and trying to install on a spare partition.

The installation is almost finished and stuck at Configuring update-notifier-common (amd64) for last 30 minutes.

I am not sure whether I should click the skip button now or wait longer.

Can you post an image of where it is stuck? Not sure off hand what you are referring to.

I can't but I can tell you that the status message "Configuring update-notifier-common (amd64)" remained for long time.

Are you getting this error while the installer says "Creating user..."? Try the install again WITHOUT encrypting your home folder (leave the checkbox un-ticked). It's an old bug in the installer that affects some Ubuntu derivatives. It took me several days of hung installs to remember that this bug existed. See if that solves the problem. Otherwise re-download and verify that checksum.
