My Lenovo G50-45 Laptop has only 1706 MB usable memory and I am always looking for light Distros.

$ free -m
              total        used        free      shared  buff/cache   available
Mem:           1706        1055          79         365         571         120
Swap:          1023         140         883

I had tried Enlightenment as gOS Desktop in 2007 when it was launched.

I decided to try Bodhi Linux 4.2.0. After installation I could configure it my Country by adding Languages Module and Setting English/India/UTF-8.

I installed Chromium Browser, Gnucash, Libreoffice, Synaptic from Bodhi Linux AppCenter and fonts-indic, gnome-mahjongg from Synaptic.

That is what I need at present and enjoying Bodhi Linux.

I have one question:
What is the purpose of having 4.10.0-21-generic Linux Kernel instead of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Kernel?

Users reported improvements in regard to some minor issues with the LTS kernel, so staff decided to update to the 4.10. kernel.

If you prefer the Long term kernel ( support till 2021) it is still available in the repos and only a few commands away. Need help with that just post your question here.

Enjoy,

Charles
