Just finished compiling a list of the best lightweight Linux distros where we included Bodhi Linux. But are there any other distros you would recommend?

Would love to get some feedback.

Thanks!

A big thank you to everyone who contributes to Bodhi Linux

why way at the bottom.... hell this is so much better and classier and less glitches than most of the stuff listed!  my 4 cents!

The ordering was totally random, to be honest. That's why we decided to make the table sortable by the user.

We can move Bodhi up a bit though, no problem :)

I really think that when you have stuff like this esp 50 of them....hell - you really should have some quality control as to the Quality and the Dynamic of each said distro.  not just random stuff and to me some seem really bogus and not even on the par of Bodhi.   appreciate the mention but...

some are tough to get into - some are easy - some take a bit of work but worth it and some are so basic that it seems a joke - as such.... just my opinion.  and they are all linux and takes work to create them; but still...

some look great and have issues.  some are ready to use- some are user friendly and some are just beautiful and unique and are just plain sweet which is what Bodhi is to me.

i was not trying to come down on you - so i apologize.  just that even mint that you have listed there is rather bloated and not lightweight at all.   put xfce and even xubuntu on for my wife and not really much faster than old gnome and also mate and cinnamon.  even when you delete all of the garbage and have a stripped don machine.  unless you also have a super fast machine too.  so just commented on the list in general.  i also just scanned it too.

I think it is worth mentioning SliTaz. Rather unusual in many ways.

Looks Like a pretty thorough list! I just read the article.  Glad to see Bodhi on it!

edit: I should add of the better known Distro's,  I'm sure there are others.

Those are some pretty nice OS's to be listed with!
I assume your numbers in the article are in reference to the apppack ISO.

Yes Slitaz is cool. Mainly its 50 MB installation iso.
BTW: I am not sure Elive is still a live project. Must explore...

yes Stefan and graywizard and that is where this screenshot came from; they just released a new beta. I kept the eye candy switched on since I had a Radeon anyway

Oh man, during the search for lightweight distros that ultimately brought me to Bodhi, Slitaz was on the list I tried.  That was when I was making the full time jump from Windoz...couldn't believe an OS could be smaller than some many of the programs that I used to run.

Initially when I started searching for Windoz alternatives, I started on SuSE Enterprise (no idea why...had to start somewhere...I guess it was available at Best Buy, likely)...to me, that was just what I thought Linux was for...enterprise/servers and such (this was 17 or so years ago...).  Pretty much got my butt handed to me but it did start my love of Linux and dislike for the other...

Sorry to reminisce...
