I've just noticed.
Bodhi forum has now more than 1 thousand posts.
Beautiful achievement, for such a young project and a forum that hasn't and doesn't need any "pushy" people, as I've seen here and there, elsewhere.

Jeff: write it at Bodhi wall of fame :) :)

A big thank you to everyone who contributes to Bodhi Linux

I think it's awesome that Bodhi has so many posts and is acquiring so many new users, so quickly. To think that Bodhi isn't even ranked on Distrowatch yet! As for the Bodhi Forums, truthfully, this has been the best forum I have ever been a part of in my experience with Linux. :) Everyone is respectful, polite, and it makes me feel like I am a part of brotherhood. Three cheers for Bodhi and all of its awesome community members.

And counting. Agust.
To be honest, not a surprise for me.
We are been doing great things here on behalf of Linux users. That is our value and best asset.

Greg: I'm sure that if Bodhi were at the DW database, now it will be among the first 20, ranked in popularity.
I'd like to understand what are their criteria to add Distros in.
Some, enter at day 1. Others never do it.
Bodhi site, Forum and mainly the Distro is maybe the best I've seen, regarding quick progress at all areas, without compromising overall quality, and it provide lots of difference among the vast number of Linux distro choice.

One more week and 1000 downloads more, from the sourceforge net pages.
At this moment Bodhi 0.1.4 was downloaded 3000 times, from 95 countries.
For those who plan and develop a project, the users acceptance is the best signal about its utility and quality, so these numbers mean that Bodhi is heading in the right direction.
We're all looking forward for the improvements and goodies coming at the soon to be released Bodhi 0.1.5.

So, this thread was started by fore17 on Jan 13 2011 announcing the Forum had reached 1000+ posts. The first release of Bodhi was Nov 17 2010, but the first post to the boards I could find was Dec 02 2010. Assuming that the Forum wasn't open at the time of the first release (and that may be wrong) that gives means that it took 43 days to reach the 1K mark.

Sometime today (not sure when) the Bodhi Forum exceeded 2,000 posts! Getting the next 1K took only *17* days! That is an amazing acceleration. At this rate, we'll hit 3K sometime next week (actually, that's just a stab in the dark - I'm sure Jeff can (and probably will) check my math :-P)

Thank you to everyone who has participated for making this such a vibrant, productive and FUN forum!

cheers!
mark

Another important thing about this second 1000 posts is that less than 25 percent of the posts on the forums are now made by myself.

In the first 1000 over a third of them where my own ;)

so by using an exponential fit, which is a valid growth model in many fields of science, we should have 5000 by the end of the month

I would bet more on the side of a constant grow, in this case, so, 4000 :D

Yes, why not? A counting and betting thread B)

No, :) now serious.
Could there be a thread to register general things, like happenings, dates, data or info related to the evolution of the Bodhi project and its community.
Some of the information in there could then be reused, when appropriated, in the Bodhi site or at its page in the Wikipedia.
We expect this project to grow and stay live for a long time, so it's interesting to have a place at hand for anytime visitors, to give an idea about how a new distro (Bodhi) was born and progressed along the years.
