Since these 2 topics seem to come up a lot, I thought it would be good to pin a post with links to the relevant articles.

Very good! MAYBE some one will actually read this before asking (or posting a blog about Bodhi which isn't fair nor correct)!

Thanks for noticing. I took the freedom of editing the post, they should work now.

Try launching it from the terminal with this command:
gksudo kpackagekit

If that works we will need to edit the .desktop file for it to launch with elevated privileges, but first thing first. ;)

Thanks for pointing that out. Should be fixed now.

not for me so maybe its because I use Chromium web browser

but don't hold that against me.

ok I posted 3 links ...top one is still good

middle link says....Not Found
Error: The requested address '/doku.php' was not found on this server.

bottom link says.....the same thing

Suggest your middle link change to
http://appcenter.bod...L2/Linux_Kernel

and bottom link change to
http://appcenter.bodhilinux.com/

good luck

Did you refresh the page before trying the links again? Or clearing your cache maybe. Definitely works here on ff :)

yes cache is clear

test 2....re-install midori same issue

I wonder if it relates to a package I deleted ??

Now I use a logrotate with a force and set its size to 30k and this is a new hard drive install
I checked the history log for apt and I can't see it but I think.....I am guessing.... maybe it is because of
package= getdebi or something like that?

tried to search fails but so does my memory...grins like a sheep

EDIT

its not great loss as I found the kernel page and I use apt and not web browser downloading

cheers

Lol grins like a sheep.

That is odd though. Anyway, as long as you're sorted. :)

Question about packages on the AppCenter.
How do I know the version of software in the *.bod files?
Can you add a version to the file name and description?

We are in the process of doing this. Today I added version numbers to all the database entries and in the next few days I am going to see about getting the php code updated to display this information. If you really must know now, here is a link to a csv file for all the apps on the appcenter (as well as a couple that have been removed ... been too lazy to clean the file up).

EDIT: Btw this question is really off topic for this thread. In the future start a new thread for questions like this.

I followed the instructions to upgrade Opera.
Installed PCManFM which doesn't seem to be equipped with 2.1,
clicked in permissions to make file executable but that doesn't do anything except open the file content.

Hello,

I just decided to use Bodhi on my system and started downloading the 32bit version. I wanted the Nikhila package also, to be downloaded before I make any changes to the current windows system. But the links in http://appcenter.bod.../1#installation is not working.

I tried right click + Save link as option also, but no use.. Can someone give me the right link please??

Thanks,
Nidhin

BOD downloads are currently offline - have been for a little over a month. Still working getting it all moved over to a new server - but our server staff are volunteers (like everyone here) so it is taking longer than expected to bring this non-critical feature back online.

Thanks for the reply Jeff... Really appreciate your and the community's efforts.

If you are aware of any similar packages that are compatible with the bodhi linux, could you please let me know?
