Yes, for a change it's nice to read reviews which are not concerned to describe how afwul the theme is and that we have too many ubuntu derivatives already. If I were a beginner who has no idea what Bodhi linux is, I would certainly be interested to try it now after reading those reviews. :)

Jeff,

Check out what Manuel Jose, who recently wrote the Bodhi piece you posted above, is downloading via Transmission in Top 5 Bit Torrent Clients for Ubuntu

Nothing better than a few people complaining about a distro. It truly only serves to make it that much more popular. :)

Those asking for a few matted themes do have a valid point though... That is something I've had people I've installed the OS for have asked about. Right now E17 is very much all gloss.

I know there is a reason for it Agust - also just recognizing it is a valid point.

think you should sign up to some Linux magazine forums, or email publishers to mention it and ask them to review.
In UK we have a few Linux mags being published on shelves (3-4), always good when they put "new distro's" on the cover cD

Off topic ...
The article is excellent and if the Linux Gazette republished it, that's ok, as more people will get to know about the actual enlightenment distro's offer.
I did read it originally at your blog and so I recognized it after I followed the link.
What I wouldn't have recognize is really the author's pic. Looks very different from he one at the Blog. May be that's because you're writing there for a long time and its an older one.

You know - I'm actually about 6 months older in that picture on the gazette than in the one posted on my blog. I just have a clean shave, makes me look a whole lot younger.

On this enlightenment page: http://www.enlighten...p=download&l=en we're listed at the bottom of the page under "Distributions." And there was a review of Bodhi on Sunday 13 Feb at: http://anarchic-orde...nment.html#more The comment by "Elder Geek" is terrific in full as to what Jeff's vision and accomplishment has been so far. Excerpt: "If there is one thing true about power users, is we each adopt our own personal set of tools. So here is a blazingly fast, minimalistic Linux that I can add just what I want. Instead of starting out slow and bloated with 30 servies (sic) running and silly things like 5 different terminals, 4 calculators, and 6 different text editors."
