Hi all,

We've just removed the original Bodhi Guide to Enlightenment from the Wiki as we're only going to maintain an HTML version in the future (and possible a PDF). There may be a few links from other pages that still point to the Wiki version, so if you find any please correct them if you can or let us know in this thread if you can't. Thanks!

cheers

I know of several forum posts that link to the wiki. Are they all dead now? If so can't you make a redirect or something like that?

+1
It would be a shame to have a lot of dead links in the forums.

I doubt many people linked to an e17guide page on the wiki. Either way, the old wiki e guide was linking to the new html version already. We cant keep old information for the sake of old links. The new guide is already very different from the old one.

If you run into any links on the forum to the e guide or any part of it, please reply to it with a link to the new e17 guide.

Do you have some evidence to doubt about that?
Is it not worth to add a note to ask for feed back about broken links?
What was good yesterday is dated today. What is good today will be dated tomorrow,
We need to keep our evolution in a way that minimize what was (well) done before and at the same time helping us, by asking users help to correct / give feed back on those kind of errors.

Feel free to correct me on this provinding you have links to posts. I'll be happy to edit the pages on the wiki that link to the old e guide.

It's the way of the internet. Old link die, new links get created. We just have to put up with it and in this case, change the ones that are wrong.

That's not the point nor is this a criticism.

I'm fully aware that Bodhi is improving and changing for the better at cruise speed and past stuff cannot slow that progress.
True, "It's the way of the internet", also. So, its often seen in many sites, something the like "please advise us if you find a broken link"

B)
Replying to myself

We could also use this "issue" as a nice Bodhi PR.
I mean, by placing in the main site, under "Bodhi Linux News", something like:
Were undergoing changes in our documentation to improve its usability.
If you have written Bodhi related content and find a broken link, please adjust it or contact us and we'll be happy to provide you updated addresses.

Sorry folks - I started this thread and totally forgot to "Watch Topic", so I haven't seen any of your replies until just now.

Regarding the redirect part of the discussion: I've put some notes on the original index page on the Wiki, so I think that takes care of that.

This part, however, just confuses me: ;)

The "Please read this before posting" page at http://forums.bodhil...before-posting/ uses the old link.
