***** SOLVED *******

(I had picked a Profile which was only for "Advanced Users" and this profile does not have the obvious install options that the other profiles have)

Anyone else have this problem with new release? I used unetinstall in windows xp. I can't see the install option anywhere. It certainly isn't where the install option was for previous releases. If anyone has had success with netbook installs of the new release using something other than unetinstall and xp please pass the info on.

Many thanks

Did you select the "bare" profile that says in its description it is for advanced users only?

I don't remember seeing that"bare profile" anywhere... I selected the "default" and "live" options and both led to this absence of an install option on the desktop.... The desktop that I got was not the desktop on your screenshots here in this thread, it is very "bare" but I don't remember ever selecting "bare" anywhere..... I suspect maybe it's a bad download of the iso and I'm trying again but the server seems quite busy now.... So where is this "bare profile" semected, Jeff?

I am not only a relative newbie but I am also 60 and I took a lot of drugs in the 70's... maybe they are catching up to me?

Take a look at my recent blog post about the Bodhi RC. It shows the two screens you go through after starting the Live mode. One of them is selecting your profile.

I finally read the "fine print" which I usually ignore in Profiles (and elsewhere) and it does say for advanced users. What also set me up was the fact that I used that profilr for a while and actually installed from it before, so i expected things to stay the same, which they didn't!

Now I have it installed finally Jeff. Thanks for your help..sorry for the lack of attention to the Profile detail.
