Hello,

I want to say how much I am growing to like bodhilinux, after having been a little perplexed by it at first. I've been using Ubuntu on recycled desktop and larger laptop computers for six years and continue to do so, but I have never been happy with it on my little netbook. I had Lubuntu on it and that was fine until the most recent update, but, having installed bodhi yesterday, I feel as though I've got a new computer.

One of the things I like very much is the friendly, accessible language in which the documentation is written. I have had a long-standing battle with the keyring function which I find as annoying as the microsoft paperclip. It took me five minutes to find an excellent, simple and sympathetic answer on your wiki this morning.

One programme I would like to see on the software centre is the excellent textroom, that turns the computer screen into nothing but a word processor and a little music player function. It is silly, but it works, when I have to write reports and essays. I can download it from their site, but I had a fair bit of trouble getting it to work that way on lubuntu and I don't relish doing it again. Would it be possible for you to add it with one of those 'install' buttons, to save the agony of remembering how to make synaptic work with a downloaded file?

I really appreciate your work and will be making a small dontaion next payday. I didn't think I cared about flashy desktops on the computer, but it really is the o/s that the netbook industry fumbled a few years ago. I'm tempted to get a loan, buy a job lot of them and install it as a business proposition. Anyone interested?

Thank you for the kind words and welcome to Bodhi, dances with cats (that nick made me smile).

As for adding software to the appcenter, would you settle for in the repo? Im sure that when Jeff reads this he'll add it for you. The appcenter is meant to have only a few choices, but perhaps this application will have more people jumping for it.

For future software requests, we have a thread called software for the bodhi repo, where you can request software to be added. Posting from my phone, so linking is a pain. If you search for it youll find it.

Again, welcome!

Please post a link to the software home page and we will see what we can do about making it easy to install :)

There is a deb on textrooms google code page. I installed it in a virtual box and it installed flawlessly and seemed to work. It pulled in some qt dependencies.

Good work ylee. Sorted and added to the repo - not sure it needs to go on the app center page, but it is now just an apt-get away.

Hi Danceswithcats! Just curious; did you get the name from the book of the similiar title-Dancing with Cats? (and a wonderful book it is!)
Home is where the computer is plugged in.

Hi RolyPolyCat,

No. I came up with it in 2003, when I first joined a chatroom (remember those?) and had the television on at the time. Danceswithwolves was on and I'm a cat fanatic.

I've been using it on and off ever since. I owned the url for danceswithcats.org for a few years, but never did anything with it. Someone else nabbed danceswithcats.com, but it doesn't appear to be in use at the moment. I use it ofr forum i.d.'s and the Guardian comments section, where I've been praising Bodhi tonight.

It's a sad confession, but it may be my one true creative moment.

Body's going on the main computer this weekend. Woohoo!
