I'm so paranoid and occasionally wear a tin-foil hat, but even I concur with things like this. Priceless.

NO ....without any smilies or other junk

Someone smarter than me already said it and it goes some thing like

"what happens on IRC stays on IRC"

I don't have a problem with mods having access to it or keeping logs

What am I excited about?
I can see quotes on what people said....and how many times....aussie beach babes got kicked by a certain cold hearted buzzard

Personally I think it is harmless. Don't post things on IRC you wouldn't want everyone to see - same thing goes for everywhere else on the net.

Well, you can just use an anonymous nickname, connect to freenode anonymously and say whatever the hell you want if that's an issue.

Did Bodhi & Google just merge? Holy crap, you'd wanna consult people before showing their chat logs and stats publicly...I know I will get flamed for this, but the poll does ask the question. I have simply answered it.

It's data, you can do a lot of things with data. and I'm all for the free and open use of data as well.
I do have one concern though: people. Even extraordinarily bright people do stupid things, like talking, and sometimes when people talk they give up information they may not have intended to. This information may be harmful if taken out of context, or beyond certain time-frames.

Stating that I must say I'm ok with the stat tracking(and even like it, being a numbers kinda guy), but the random quotes are bordering carelessness in their current state. One could possibly add a filter to remove lines that contain url, or url like phrases, email addresses, and the like.

A bit hypocritical coming from someone who keeps logs of his logs, but even these have time-frames where they become more dangerous than useful. Also I learned to respect the virtue of integrity a while ago ... others on the internet, well not so much.

I voted Maybe, but it worries me a little! yesterday. Was planning on replying and explaining why eventually, but it seems Trace articulated most of my major concerns with this. Out of context random quotes, information becoming public that was not intended to be public and so can be damaging. Our IRC channel needs to be a place where team members can discus bodhi and/or forum related issues, a place where newbies can come and get help without fear of ppl making fun of them or saying RTFM, as well as a place for the bodhi community to socialize and get to know one another. As far as the socializing aspect goes people may say things not intended for public display, and some people joke around as friends do but that may be misconstrued out of context and so on...

I suppose I am ok with this as long as there is some care and consideration in the quote section and it is not some automated random thing.

Dont kid yourself, many people join the channel in search for support. We do socialize a lot also... i suppose thats to be expected, as there are many regulars. =)

As long as the quotes are not completely random, as ylee and trace already stated, I am fine with it, and just spent almost an hour on it :/
