It would have been posted hours earlier, except for an SQL database problem with really bad timing, which killed the part where I was showing the app center ;)

I did promise I'd make a better video months ago when I made the first one. I welcome any comments :)

# at the risk of being banned....I must be transparent on 2 matters

hi
The video is 99% good and visually good

1) Next time you use microsoft to make video....pls switch on fan governor if ms supports its as I can hear a fan like noise in the background.
and so its harder for older men like me to listen to your sultry voice

giggles

2) I am not going to quote your exact words but you mention that Bodhi does not have
ssh and stuff enabled by default......good

and then you say something like......you don't need to keep your system up to date except for flash

EEK

let me virtually $$$$ you ....no I can't do that as you will report me but what the heck
here is an example of why thats naughty

Ubuntu is slow to update openssl and altho I could have made a request to Jeff to build Bodhi packages ...I have not
off topic packages exist but are way out of date
http://packages.bodh...main/o/openssl/

....here are some links that kinda prove how timing does matter

size does not matter...timing does

SOURCE
http://openssl.org/
states........18-Jan-2012: OpenSSL 1.0.0g is now available, including important bug and security fixes and
................19-Jan-2012: Beta 2 of OpenSSL 1.0.1 is now available, please test it now

debian ref
http://mirror.intern...main/o/openssl/
openssl_1.0.0g-1_i386.deb 676524 18-Jan-2012 22:02

lets consider ubuntu
http://mirror.intern...main/o/openssl/
openssl_1.0.0g-1ubuntu1_i386.deb 510206 13-Feb-2012 15:05

hullo they grabbed the debian file on 13 feb as well
openssl_1.0.0g-1ubuntu1.debian.tar.gz 110960 13-Feb-2012 15:04

Thats why I now refuse to run bodhi on Ubuntu but prefer to run it on debian

and yes the rest of the vid is still good.

For those who like bad maths.....Ubuntu is a bad boy as they are month behind in security updates!

I liked it, nice explanatory video. Not just images flashing past at breakneck speed. Well done :)
Think of this sentence as a deep and meaningful saying, or an extremely witty phrase.

Tara, I just watched the video...

it was... amazing! It's the best review I've seen on this distro. Its to the point, shows off what Bodhi does and how it acts. You're very clear on your explanations and you're easy to follow. I also think you've got the right kind of voice for something like this, especially if you compare it to that of that fast talking nut on Youtube that does a lot of these. I don't remember his name, shame.

Anyway, I really liked it and I'll be adding it to the video page this weekend.

Thank you!

Really nice work Tara!

I especially like the part where you're trying to set the shelf width to 36 and keep missing, then say, "...or we can just fail" bwahahaha

cheers

*laughs* well, it was something like the 4th take... all of my earlier attempts had been interrupted by technical problems with the recording software, or my cell phone ringing (don't think you want the dr. who theme going off halfway through it), or the SQL database crashing and bringing down the app center, stuff like that. :P

that, incidentally, is also why my voice was so scratchy. :(

Yeah the video is really nice with basic interpretation. There are so many installation options, which is easier to user to decide which one he is searching for.
