Recently saw that my uptime was getting up there. Other forums have similar posts that they pin so I figured I'd post mine. This is on a stable, daily use machine. I use it for work and for play :) 7 Days, 11 hours, 8 minutes

That means after each e-updates, you don't restart your systems....:P

@STRUPPI - Thanks
@Rohit - I have my E packages held back on my stable machine because updates have broken a feature I use often. I'll upgrade only if I find a need to (as per the suggestion of devs, don't upgrade unless it's broken)

@Jeff - That doesn't count! haha I said daily use, not a MC only machine ;) Plus, where's the proof?? (just messing around of course)

My mail server had 28 months, before a power surge cooked the power supply and one of the hard drives last week.... :)

The only thing that is really need after some E updates is a full X restart - it is easier to tell a new user to simply reboot though.

I'm an old guy. I can't keep my system up for more than a few hours at a time.
Seriously, I keep my PCs turned off when not in use for conservation (if not cheapskate) reasons.

Most of my uptime is standby ;) I'm pretty much "one of those" environmentalists, so leaving it on all the time is unacceptable. Standby overnight though works fine for me

All electric devices create electric magnetic wave.

So shutdown your home's electricity & remove batteries once in a week.

Use candlelight..

It will help your mind as well as environment.

I once had Xandros beta 2 up and running for over a year without a reboot.
I still have an old HDD loaded with that system. I oughta fire it up !
