<conspiritech> how do i apply conky themes? google/ddg isn't providing the aqnswer easily
<skizzhg> what they call themes are nothing else than a conkyrc and some extra stuffs (fonts, scripts, etc.)
<conspiritech> k. so i have bodhi, kill.sh lsd.png, and start.sh in the targz i downloaded
<conspiritech> sudo ./start.sh launches the default conky
<skizzhg> sudo?
<conspiritech> sudo may not be necessary, i just put it in in case
<skizzhg> you people put sudo in front of everythin
<conspiritech> yeh it works without sudo
<skizzhg> I can't know what this 'theme' does
<conspiritech> the top entry: http://art.bodhilinu...oku.php?id=huge
<skizzhg> ok, what's the problem then? I suppose you have to change a couple of path (in bodhi and start.sh) because they look for /etc/
<skizzhg> that's if you use this theme in your home
<skizzhg> then you have to adapt the cnofig to fit your need, like installing or change the font and so on
<skizzhg> it's the price to pay for using a config made by someone else
<conspiritech> i got it
* slgma has quit (Ping timeout: 240 seconds)
<conspiritech> the problem is the answer (replace conky.conf file) doesn't show up on search engine or conlky website or anywhere
<conspiritech> i haven't had to mess with /etc in like two years so i did not think of that option
<skizzhg> replacing /etc/conky/conky.conf is _not_ the answer, you shouldn't touch the system wide file
<conspiritech> well, i don't have a .conky in /home/x
<conspiritech> and i have my lsd molecule now
<skizzhg> so? what doesn't exist can be created
<skizzhg> the author uses /etc/ (who knows why) but it's not a rule
<conspiritech> k
* ISF (~ivan@143.106.196.213) has joined #conky
<conspiritech> so the config file goes to /home/x/.conky ? or is that supposed to be a directory
<conspiritech> ?
<skizzhg> in this case you have more than a file, so will be a directory
<skizzhg> you can put wherever you want, I use ~/.config/conky/
* Adalid_Negro (~said@186.154.77.56) has joined #conky
<conspiritech> ~/.conkythem/conkyrc works
<conspiritech> from http://www.techdrive...among-most.html
<conspiritech> it was not superobvious there either
<conspiritech> there should be new open source commandment:
<conspiritech> 'thou shalt not forget the obvious in your documentation'
<skizzhg> heh
<skizzhg> a README in those themes would be nice
<conspiritech>
