There is no connection manager pre-installed on the Bodhi Pi image because the image is setup to auto-connect the wired interface at system startup. If this is not happening please check your
/etc/networking/interfaces
File and make sure the right ethX is defined there (if it says eth0 - try changing it to eth1 - if it says eth1 try changing it to eth0 - not at home now so I can't check which it is on my Pi).
If you plan on connecting and disconnecting (or using wireless) on the rasp Pi I would recommend using the WICD manager as nm-applet is a bit heavy

Hi Jeff
I tried changing to eth1 from eth0 but still no connection
I think the file in the Pi Bodhi is named "/etc/network/interfaces" ... maybe this has something to do with the problem?
Will wait until you have other suggestions, Jeff.

No that is the correct path - I copy and pasted someonelses wrong code line.
Does
sudo ifconfig
List any interface devices? Does the md5sum for your download check out?

Maybe that manufacturing "hiccup" is related to these problems?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Raspberry Pi buyers face delay after factory mistake
Ethernet jacks, Raspberry Pi The delay arose because the wrong jack was soldered to the circuit boards
Manufacturing problems will mean the first batches of the £22 ($35) Raspberry Pi computer, aimed at helping people learn programming, are delayed.
The error has caused a "hiccup" in the production of the eagerly-anticipated credit-card sized computer."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The mistake meant that the wrong type of networking jack was soldered into place on some of the circuit boards.
It seems like some Pi's are different from others with respect to this network issue. They had to resolder many of the first batch with new network jacks, no?
