Hi
serious problems to install bodhi2-build3, downloaded yesterday from sourceforge-mirror:

After running the installation-procedere asking for the settings, files are going to be installed and near 2/3 of this, installations hangs up with message

Quote

Application Execution Error
Install bodhi12.04 stopped running unexpedtedly
Errot Information:
An exit code of 125 was returned from ubiquity-desktop `/usr/share/applications/ubiquity-gtkui-desktop` gtk-ui

Installation on HD will abort after this
I tried the installation a few times, with 2 different cd-players.
There are 4(!) entrances in grub-menu of the later installed build2, no one works (obviously, installation was aborted)

Then I tried to install build2, got a similar message

Quote

Proble occured while loading the URL file :///usr/share/ubiquity-slideshow/slides/index.html
Error opening file: Permission denied

Anyway, the installation went on and has been succesfull

This refers to the initial, when installing is running, slide-show, or not?

md5sum on both cds is correct

Also I can't connect to internet with networkmanager with build2, I have access to the UMTS/3G-Modem, but not permission
Message is

Quote

no permission as user to connect with networkmanager or edit/add connection

So it should ask for root-permissions, I think

So, in the end, I am not really used to ubuntu-based-system. Tried to login as root on konsole, I just know on the GUI this is not possible
No succes, seems I miss there something. What is the magic command? I tried sudo/su/root, what is it?
Sorry, I am used to openSuse...

Shortest night of the year in northern hemisphaere, today, enjoy!
And the antipodes also, from now on days are creasing

Please wait until Bodhi 2.0.0 is released as stable - or go through and read the threads already related to most all of these issues.

Trying the hard way - I am no nerd, anyway
In Build 3 live-cd I got nm-applet to work, by default was there a wrong entrance for APN; portuguese provider kanguru.pt.
It should not be `kanguru-portatil` for my 3G-Modem
It should be no/blank entrance, then networkmanager is connected
Then I tried to install the live-cd on HD again, with internet connected, desktop-modus, waiting until end of copying files to avoid this stuff with the slideshow.
No hope, slideshow started anyway and was interrupted by fault 125, what I know now is reaaly bad, installation hang up

So I wemt to live-iso from build2
Worked as good as build3, less themes, what the hell?
Got connected to internet with the 3G-Modem, installed the stuff on HD, ignoring the fault-message about the slideshow, installation successfull.
Reboot to the system, works fine, only midori is crashing opening a new tab.
apt-get dist-upgrade loaded 53MB? Is this ok? ) think is nit a lot...
Installed firefox, opera doesn't install, have to look for the repo.
All other linux-system here (opensuse-tumbleweed/mageia/bodhi1.4) ar listed in grub and chooseable
So, now, magic moment: restart and see if bodhi2 still works

So, I did the reboot,
Still anything works, great!
I neither did not need Jeff's workaround about >adduser >username >addgroups >netdev, this works fine out of the box!
Gonna go to the fine-tuning now and have a look to the appcenter

So far

I have tried all the suggestions mentioned here and still no Bodhi installed.

I tried 2.1 as well using the suggestions mentioned but no go.

Hmmmm.....I have 2.0.1 on a system 76 Pangolin about 3 yrs old and a netbook and a dell 700m.

But I cannot get it to install on my wife's Sony VGN FE770G????

Please if anyone has another idea or two I am open....I love Bodhi, I think it's great I would like my wife to have a go at it.
