I just recently installed Bodhi onto my old laptop and I love it. I need to know ,however, is there any way I can bridge my wlan on my laptop to its ethernet then run it to my desktop so that both computers can have internet access? I've googled this several times and found some sites that kind of show how to do it but I either can't get it to work or its incomplete. So can anyone here help me?

Ok so the laptop wifi will be your "Internet connection point" for both computers right?
On the laptop, right click on your nm applet, choose Edit Connections... Highlight Auto eth0 then click Edit. Choose the IPv4 Settings tab, change Method: to Shared to other computers. Once that is done,
or reboot.
Connect a crossover cable between your computers (unless you have autosensing/autoconfiguring ports on the PCs (not usual) you will need to use a "crossover" Ethernet cable. The standard cables you use to connect to a router/switch are normally of the "straight through" type, and will not work for this application).
The desktop computer should now be able to connect to the Internet through the laptop.
Good luck

Everytime I close out of the network connections it resets the method to automatic dhcp. Is there any way to get around this?
Also shouldn't it be the wlan0 that I'm selecting share to other computers for since thats where I'm connected to the internet at?

You click the Apply button lower right corner before closing out right? If not, settings won't be saved.
No, you want to share eth0 as that is where you are connecting the other computer on which you want a shared Internet connection. If you share wlan0 you will not get an IP from your DHCP over the wlan and thus no Internet connection.

Are you sure you are using a "crossover" Ethernet cable between the computers? A standard Ethernet cable will NOT work.

Yep. I made it myself, and I've tested it with another laptop going to my desktop and it worked just fine but the other laptop had windows on it so I was a little more familiar with setting up the network. I'll have to wait though as I'm out of town for right now. Thanks for the help so far.
Oh and when I reboot do I leave the cable hooked up or wait until I boot then plug it in?

Edit:
My bad
I just tested this configuration with a laptop (wifi connected to Internet) and another laptop connected via cable to the he Wifi laptop. works every time irrespective if the cable connected at boot or later.
(Don't have a Win computer to test so can't answer on that topic)
