I love the new 0.1.6 RC and was hoping to make it my only OS in my 5 year old Compaq laptop until I had problems removing FF 4 and installing FF 3.6 (Namoroka or the regular version). Every time I purge by terminal or remove FF 4 by synaptic to completely remove FF to do a clean install, FF 4.11 beta reinstalls from the Bodhi repository and rears its ugly head and haunts me like a psycho ex-girlfriend when I reinstall FF. I can run FF 3.6 from inside a downloaded tar.gz in my Home or/temp folder but I'd rather be running the daily mozilla ppa (Namoroka 3.6.15pre) instead of 4.11 beta. Hoping Jeff reads this and can do something or suggest some workaround so I can use my FF version of choice (until FF 4 works with flash and some other add-ons I need for work).

Thanks!!

Firefox 4 does work with flash (but I know java is still out). I'll package up a separate "firefox-3.6" package this by this weekend (hopefully tonight if I get time) so you can install it via the Bodhi repo and not have any chance of Firefox 4.0 updating/wiping it out.

Well , this is what I do.
Download Firefox 3.6 from web Mozilla example in folder Documents , extract file , now Main Menu > Settings > Settings Panel , tab Applications > Application news , we name, application name and path would /home/user/Documents/firefox/firefox , added application in Ibar or ItaskNG and enjoy firefox 3.6 ;) .

Greetings:
Agust

firefox-3.6 package is now in the repo. Install it along side firefox 4.0:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install firefox-3.6

Launch it then with firefox-3.6 or via the menu icon under internet.

Thanks Jeff and Agust!! Actually got the flash to work with a downloaded Flash 10 .deb and just finished upgrading. Don't know why it wouldn't work before. Probably an operator problem ;).

Jeff, I really appreciate adding the 3.6 as it has add-ons I need that haven't been upgraded yet for translating in FF 4. Just an added note that Bodhi will be distributed throughout Indonesia starting tomorrow to be used in orphanages, churches and charity organizations that are running on old (and newer) computers. The .bod files come in handy for those out of the way villages that don't have internet access. My extreme gratitude for all your hardwork!!

Blessings from Malang, Indonesia

Stan
