Hi jrewing,
have you 2 'Network Manager' in your 'Startup Applications'?

Main -> Settings -> All -> Apps -> Startup Applications

Just the one entry in Startup Applications under System - Network
I removed it restarted the machine and obviously i had no connection and no icons in the tray so then i added it again and rebooted and still i have the 2 icons.

I have not installed Bodhi 2, only testet in a VM, wait for the final version.
So I can not realy help.
Have you testet to delete only one of this dobble Icon?
Maybe the Icon of the right side as first [the second].
I believe, in the first time of Bodhi 1.4 [or was this 1.3??, I do not remember me correct] was this the same on my PC, but is to long ago and was a result of a wrong binding from me self.
To delet this dobble Network-Icon [and this was with function] was not so easy.
Only one Network-Icon was the Master, the second only a copy from the first, but entert and written in a, for me, unknow script.
Was hard to solved this and now I have forgotten, what is to do.

It's possible that this is caused by the systray. try unloading then re-loading it after a reboot. or purge then reinstall it.

Do you (or did you) have "remember session" selected? You might be getting startup + remembered session.

If so, close everything (both versions) and logout, after unchecking "remember". Log back in. Keep "remember" unchecked, and just add what you prefer to your startup.

I have looked for the remember session option everywhere but cannot find it where is it?

remember season ? i dont remember bodhi having that, i think its more an ubuntu thing.

as 2.0 is not official out i cant take that problem really serious, however im really curious about the cause.
nm-apllet cannot start two processes so a problem in the systray is the most likely cause. if i would be you i would start an alternative systray like "trayer" just to check if its the systrays fault.

I went into Startup Applications and under the tab ORDER removed NETWORK now when i rebooted my machine the systray is empty but i have an internet connection and its working fine for every other program just showing the one icon for every program i start up except Network i think i will leave it like this for now until a fix is found.

Moving this to testing - as this is a 2.0.0 related issue.

I can't reproduce this here on my dedicated 2.0.0 system. Can you try re-adding the network manager to startup applications and see if it still creates double icons?

I did a dist-update on bodhi 2.0 (32 bit in VB) and oddly enough now i also have two nm-applet icons

Got too much stuff to do now to investigate why ... was updating 2.0 so i can start building all the bods for it. That is gonna take a while so for now i am ignoring the duplicate icon issue.

Ha wow - just ran the latest updates on my box (I was a build old here) and I get this now as well. Thanks for the report - this is a confirmed bug in the latest E packages. Will take a look into this for the next few days.

Just pushed some fresh packages into the 2.0.0 repo that have resolved this issue on my system. Please let me know if these work for you as well (reboot after installing the updates to confirm).
