I was helping a friend over the phone that lives in another State. I gave him the link to download the iso to install Bodhi. He burned the image and it stalled and wouldn't complete. I went to the same site and tried it myself. It did the same thing to me. Sadly I deleted my iso of my Bodhi install so I can't send him mine.

Is anyone reported trouble with a defective ISO today? The download site I am talking about.

What exactly is the issue? It the download stalling? Is the disc burn installing? Is installing the OS stalling?

Help us, help you,

~Jeff

This is what he was telling me. He pressed F12 and loaded from the CD. It had a black screen with writing on the upper left that had http etc on it. He saw the 'welcome to Bodhi and the blowing leaves, then the screen turned black with a white curser that blinked. He waited a half hour and it never did anything else then it just went black. I had him download from a mirror site and burn another CD. The same thing happined. I then went to the site and downloaded the ISO and burned it to a Cd. I tried it and it never went passed the 'blowing leaves'/ I then tried the CD that I burned and installed Bodhi on my system. No problem and it loaded completely.

Did you check the md5sum of the downloaded images that didn't work? Sounds like bad downloads at work.

One of the many reasons torrents are the best form of download :)

Here
http://wiki.bodhilin...on_instructions
under section C youl find the instructions you need for md5. Use point 7.5 and change the "bodhi_1.4.0" to the name of the file you downloaded.

Good luck :)

bodhi bodhi:$ and it blinks and it does nothing after that...this is about fifteen minutes....this is the first time I am having problems with this download.

any suggestions? I need help. How long does it take to show what is on CD?

The lucid getdeb mirror is having un-fixable issues. Please comment it out on your 1.4.0 install -> http://forums.bodhil...ic/4966-getdeb/

If you are having other issues related to 2.0.0 please open a new thread about them so as not to clutter this existing one :)

Cheers,

~Jeff

Hi

I had exactly the same (message as post #11) when trying to install 2.0.1 a few days ago. The md5 was OK and the disk worked fine booting to live session, but only about once in every 5 or 6 reboots. I thought it was a dodgy CD drive but now I think its something to do with the Desktop manager not starting. The prompt you are left at when it doesn't work is a working terminal prompt, but I couldn't get it to do anything useful.
