I am going to be going through and updating all of the Bodhi profiles so they work with the latest E updates.

Any suggestions for improvements/changes since I am editing them all anyways?

On laptop/netboot profile:
Recommend the backlight module be loaded, with the backlight gadget on the shelf.
& MAYBE no engage(since no composite is loaded), with the default bottom shelf invisible and loaded with iBar.(autohide, mouse-in}. Just as functional and not problematic.

Engage suggestion seems good.

I'm opposed to backlight because it fails to function on over half my devices.

The backlight module is THAT spotty? Well, now I know why it wasn't included in the first place.

Something with the taskbar on the left or right side of the screen. Don't want to be seen to be aping Unity, but with widescreen displays being essentially a given these days, it makes more sense to give up pixels on the edge than it does the top or bottom.

There've been more than a few which have won DOTW, which we could work from. I'm still using the last one I submitted (which is why I haven't submitted more DOTW entries), and it's very functional while not giving up lots of pixels in the process.

I do agree with Tara. Left side ibar/taskbar would be better IMO as I am using the scrollbar quite often which means my mousepointer is too close to the ibar if positioned to the right.

I currently have all my laptop and desktop setups with the shelves and engages on the right or left. ONLY thing unity got right.

Ahh - yea forgot about you docs folks. I'm going to have the new profiles done and in the repos by Monday morning. At this point I am shooting for a 12/31 release date. Christmas isn't happening because I am going out of town this weekend.

What's changed as of the profile updates? A quick response is appreciated, as I reallyyyy want to have the Guides completed by tonight.

The big change is that the only profile still use the "itask" module is the tablet profile. All the other profiles now use the "tasks" module. Fancy also no longer uses the taskbar. Tablet doesn't use mode toggle any more.

I love bodhi its everything i need in a operating system and more theres no better feeling than when my freind is around with his spanking new laptop and im here with an old machine with 1gig ram and my laptop runs like lightning.

But what i really want to ask jeff is can you make a Bodhi Ultimate edition with all the best software and codecs etc encluded now that would be awsome.

Maybe Timmy is willing to do so once more, he had a full DVD made out of our 1.0 version. Oh man , that's a long time ago. Anyway he is in IRC often, you could ask him.

could we have a profile that has the keyboard module loaded?
many ppl need to change the layout to use the live disk as they have no english keyboard.
i even have a layout that makes it kinda impossible to use the terminal to change it so i have to ad it everytime.
