In Topic: Laptop Recommends?

20 February 2018 - 11:30 AM

Can anyone recommend a new laptop in the $300-$400 (USD) price range (if there is such a thing), that is compatible with Linux? My sister-in-law needs one. The best thing I know of is to take along a live-usb, with her shopping. But with the usb bugs out there, I doubt anyone will let you try it.

I trust AMD more than Intel currently. :)

No problem so far with my AMD A8 laptop from 2013, other than battery. :)

EDIT. Please filter to Your price range Yourself.

Remember that, by design, emulator is heavy on processor and memory.

You can also try simulator like AnBox or Shashlik. Neither has been matured though. :D

Hi, guys,

According to the Fossbytes, Bodhi Linux is the best distro for old computers in 2018.

If someone has posted this link before, sorry for the duplicate - it is a one month old link. I was glad to see that acknowledgment.

I think that the developers deserve to enjoy a moment of glory and appreciation.

Have a good night,

Val

Agree.

Even compared to full distro, Bodhi is the only distro that enable full theme switching from desktop menu, raise itself above my list.
