  1. Appcenter help

    14 February 2013 - 11:51 PM

As some may have noticed we have been making some changes to Bodhi's Appcenter. This is a work in progress as I have decided to try to maintain and improve the code since Jose has not had the time to lately. I am by no means a web developer, just so ya know. But I can learn and maybe someone with more experience will come along and help.

Regardless of whether I get help or not, I have decided to add an image zoom feature to our software description pages. See http://origin.al.eu....sc/Abiword/i386 for a working example. For the moment I am not worried about the image position, that is css controlled and we will have that sorted out by the time I update the live appcenter with this update. Besides the css stuff is aeonius's job

In order to do so, I need larger hi-res images for all applications. Bigger is probably better but I will prob resize them to about 600px wide. Jeff has agreed to do a few but I would like the Bodhi community to help some with this task.

So anyone interested in creating some images for us to use? If so either post the image links here or tell us what applications you are willing to do. My time frame is maybe have all this completed and the appcenter updated within a week.
  2. Service Pack 2 Bod

    06 January 2013 - 05:58 PM

This is just an announcement that the Bodhi Team has created a Service Pack 2 bod for those that need to update Bodhi 2.1 to Bodhi 2.2. The bod is intended to be used for offline upgrades only so if you can upgrade online please do so.

The bod can be downloaded from our Appcenter.

If anyone has a problem using this bod please contact me or post here.
  3. Updates broke Zenity

    01 January 2013 - 04:07 PM

I just noticed this yesterday but in an updated Bodhi2.1 or in Bodhi2.1 updated with testing repo, zenity is throwing out all kinds of Gtk-WARNINGs. This is with all the gtk themes I tested except for default. Bodhi 2.1 not updated does not have this issue.

    Spoiler

I am not sure which update did it. If I boot a default install of Bodhi 2.1 and then upgrade:

    Spoiler

I suspect of course it is the gtk updates above. This is a bug in something (zenity? gtk? the themes?) but not a "Bodhi Bug". However since we use zenity in our bod building scripts, this is an issue that somehow needs solved or the bod file installers altered or something...

For the record: zenity still works aside from all the warnings flooding the terminal

    Any ideas?
  4. Bodhi 2.1 Plymouth

    24 September 2012 - 08:41 PM

I made a script which should install the plymouth theme used in Bodhi 2.1 on Bodhi 2.0.

    Download: plymouth2.1.run

To use make it executable and run it in a terminal.

As always use at your own risk. To view the code:

    ./plymouth2.1.run --noexec --keep

To change back to the "blowing leaves" theme:

    sudo update-alternatives --config default.plymouth
    sudo update-initramfs -u

Note: Jeff may or may not make a deb file out of the new plymouth. If he does this script will be unnecessary.
  5. Service Pack 1 Bod

    16 September 2012 - 08:15 PM

This is just an announcement that the Bodhi Team has created a Service Pack 1 bod for those that need to update Bodhi 2.0.1 to Bodhi 2.1. The bod is intended to be used for offline upgrades only so if you can upgrade online please do so.

The bod can be downloaded from our Appcenter. Also note that after installation the bod will reboot your machine. Sorry about that but that was unavoidable. Also note that I have incorporated my lxdm_patch into this update.

If anyone has a problem using this bod please contact me or post here.
