In Topic: Wifi Box recognized but can not be connected

Yesterday, 05:29 PM

As the waiter said, I installed BL 3.2.1 to have a good screen resolution.

Charles, Below the output asked:

$ cat /etc/group | grep netdev

netdev:x:102:

Thanks for your support.

I found the file 'wicd.desktop'. Hereafter you can see the content:

[Desktop Entry]

Categories=Application;Network;

Exec=wicd-gtk --no-tray
GenericName=Network Manager
Icon=wicd-gtk
Icon[en_US]=wicd-gtk

Name=Wicd Network Manager
Name[en_US]=Wicd Network Manager
Comment=Start the Wicd client without system tray icon

Comment[en_US]=Start the Wicd client without system tray icon

Terminal=false

Type=Application

Version=1.0

The line Network is in the Categories line. Thanks

I don't understand why I didn't see the file "wicd.desktop" with the folder explorer (with 'show hidden' selected'). I found this file by searching in the terminal with "find / -name '*wicd.desktop' ". Do you know why?

I didn't find the file wicd.desktop in /usr/share/applications. I hope it helps.

Thanks

Netwrk-manager is removed. There is no systray icon and the commands of nm don't work anymore.

While installing wicd, I get a colored screen in the terminal and I added myself to have access without sudo. Thanks,

For information: With the command nm-tool, I can see my wifi network.
