#107866 Bodhi Moksha into an Acer R11 Chromebook

Posted by Superloach on 11 January 2018 - 08:34 PM

I have Bodhi Linux running natively on my Acer R11.

edit: (enable developer mode first - duh)

First, you have to get SeaBIOS: https://mrchromebox.tech/#fwscript (choose "Install/Update RW_LEGACY")

using dd (or etcher through crouton), flash the Bodhi live image to an SD card (I was never able to get SeaBIOS to see my flash drives)

On the warning screen, press Ctrl+L to enter legacy boot.

Press [ESC] to select a boot device, and select your SD card.

Once it boots, install as usual.

WARNING: AUDIO WILL NOT WORK, USE BLUETOOTH/HDMI/USB AUDIO. SEE RELATED ISSUE: https://github.com/G...stro/issues/317 (I don't know about you, but I couldn't figure out how to apply the patches manually in bodhi)

Otherwise, Bodhi runs amazingly well on the R11! Bluetooth audio is working just fine for me so far, but you have to enable it first: http://forums.bodhil...gnized/?p=33914

I know this post is a bit late, but I just wanted to let you/future Bodhi+R11 attempters know how it's done.
