    RaspBodhi Pi

Hi all; I haven't ben able to boot up from my SD-card, reinstalled Raspbian Wheezy the same method, this did boot. So, again I've installed the Bodhi-Image (yes I checked the md5 on the image), but still to no avail. Would it be possible to do an online install like the RaspBMC? Linux: wget http://svn.stmlabs.com/svn/raspbmc/testing/installers/python/install.py chmod +x install.py OSX: curl -O http://svn.stmlabs.com/svn/raspbmc/testing/installers/python/install.py chmod +x install.py AFTER THAT: sudo python install.py Just a question, because I'm still not that familiar with Linux I suppose... TIA! Ruud

    RaspBodhi Pi

I have that 32 Gb SD Card about 3 years now, it isn't very fast, class 1 maybe, I'm sure it's not too high, but I'm okay with that. I was a bit surprised that it installed that quick, the SD card should've been the main barrier for a quick install. I'll try to boot it in the next days, not sure when I have some time spare. Maybe I'll eventually use it as a Media Centre, but I'm most comfortable with Bodhi, so that'll be my base to start from. Again, any advise is welcome... Ruud

Hi tbradbeer, Actually I'm using OSX, from terminal there's a way quite similar to install the image. sudo dd if=/path/to/downloaded.img of=/dev/diskN bs=1m Any advise is welcome though... Thanks! ================= EDIT ================= user$ sudo dd if=user/Desktop/bodhi-pi-20130125.img of=/dev/disk1 bs=1m Password:**** 2048+0 records in 2048+0 records out 2147483648 bytes transferred in 1306.467533 secs (1643733 bytes/sec) approximately 23 minutes to install...

    RaspBodhi Pi

Hi all; Finally got my Raspberry Pi (Model B: 512 Mb, Ethernet, 2 USB's), downloading the Bodhi-Pi image at the moment. Through this HowTo I'll install it on a SD-Card. Hope to bring some feedback soon... Bye, Ruud

    Sandy up/Servers down?

Hi all; I can't seem to update my sons laptop, the servers seem down. Probably due to 'Sandy'... Fingers crossed for people living in her path... R-Pi WE HAVE A DATE!!

Wow, do I feel inert... there have been discussions about R-Pi here since a few months already. And I only learned about it today. But hey, Jeff's already planning a Bodhi version for this gadget. Happy-Happy Joy-Joy! ;-) Ruud

    Bodhi future after 2.0.0 release

Thanks aeonius, that made it clear.

    Bodhi future after 2.0.0 release

What 2.0 are we discussing here? Shouldn't there be Bodhi 1.4-1.9 before that, or am I missing the point here? Regards, Ruud

Great E Distro - Poor Audio Quality

I guess (hope) it's a language barrier indeed. Bodhi has been the only OS up to now that made my Acer system work with Skype! Sound has been poor all the time with other OS'es, as if it was coming through a tin can, but with Bodhi it's perfect from first installing!!! Notice, that I'm quite good with 2D design, only in in need of InkScape, GIMP and a working Skype, but a No-No with hardware (sound, WiFi/networks etc.), so I could have probably setup every other OS, before installing/reinstalling any other OS. Call me lazy, but I was looking for a light weight OS, with Mic and sound working. Up to now, Bodhi was the only one providing the things I need from day one... Regards, Ruud.

    File Sharing with SFTP

That tutorial is very clear, does this work for Linux/OSX too through terminal? At the moment I do a lot of copying through USB-keys... It would be easier to use Bluetooth, but my Acer Aspire One doesn't have any. ;-) Regards, Ruud

Someone frustrated a bit too much with Micro$oft

fore17, You're a riot. Narrowing the whole discussion down to two lines, incredibly funny! :-D
  13. Hi all; Fetch yourself some refreshments, crisps and/or chocolatecookies! Here's a nice read from a (somewhat frustrated, ranting) writer Van Wensveen, considering Micro$oft being copycat and stolen material: http://www.vanwensveen.nl/rants/microsoft/IhateMS_1.html

    User Testimonials

An acquaintance of mine I know via Elive, another Enlightenment distro, hinted me on Bodhilinux. Since I've this Acer Aspire One to test distro's with, I gave it a try, I'm using it for about a week or two, and must say that I'm impressed by the speed of this graphically wonderful desktop-environment. Before this distro I've tried MeeGo (moblin), Joli OS and other "tabbed" distro's, none did it for me because I like eyecandy ... Elive didn't work for me either, I can't put my finger on 'what?' or 'why?' it didn't... it just didn't. The combination of speed and eyecandy made me decide that Bodhilinux will stay on my netbook. The clean, fast install, the repositories from both Bodhi and Ubuntu, ease of use, friendly forums, the "WOW"-factor after each boot (app.20 sec.) only points out I've made the right decision: Bodhi works for me! A word of praise...

Hi all; I hereby like to thank the Bodhi Dev-team for this great small Linux Distro. This definitely is not Just Another Ubuntu Clone at all. Small in size and great in speed and looks! Wow and Wow again! This forum also helps newbies and distrohoppers (like me) to stay interested and active. I'm just curious where this distro will eventually get in the (near) future! Hopefully it will attract more-and-more people to Linuxland! Regards, Ruud.
