    How to install Bodhi Linux?

In the past I have used Plop boot manager to successfully install Bodhi on machines with no usb boot. https://www.plop.at/en/bootmanager/intro.html

    Hi From France

Hi all! Just installed 4.1.0 64bit on a circa 2010 Asus Eeepc 1011px to replace Ubuntu 16.04 LTS which just wouldn't run fast enough. So far so good - its much quicker! I had used Bodhi 2.1 and 2.4 in the past on a really old 386 laptop (with a floppy drive and no wifi) until it finally died of screen failure..I was really pleased today to find my forum login here still worked! Anyway, I hope to be of help here where I can. Roger

Hi Just upgraded from 2.3.0 to 2.4.0 with no issues at all. Does not happen often with any distribution! Many thanks Roger

    Update 2.1.0 to 2.3.0

Hi A quick note to applaud the easy update from 2.1.0 to 2.3.0 using apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade. The only thing that I have noticed that was not carried over from the old to the new was the system keyboard. My old laptop is french ( azerty) and the upgrade left it thinking it was US qwerty. Easily solved by searching for "keyboard default" on the bodhi website and following the instructions and rebooting. I'm using my old (2003) laptop for simple business use - scanning and saving hand written forms in my laundry) Many thanks. Roger
  5. Hi Jeff Many thanks for your time - that works fine. But.. if I put EFM in the forum search box, it returns "no results" which is why I added to the post. Search works if I search for module or files, strange? Roger
  6. Hi Same problem here with EFM after dist-upgrade (but seems fast enough!) Could it be to do with having Dropbox running? What is the .e directory and did you delete it?

    Downloaded Bodhi iso not working.

Hi I had exactly the same (message as post #11) when trying to install 2.0.1 a few days ago. The md5 was OK and the disk worked fine booting to live session, but only about once in every 5 or 6 reboots. I thought it was a dodgy CD drive but now I think its something to do with the Desktop manager not starting. The prompt you are left at when it doesn't work is a working terminal prompt, but I couldn't get it to do anything useful.

    bodhi2-issues on an old laptop

Hi All Just installed Bodhi on an Acer Aspire 1350 (13" laptop) with 792Mb ram (circa 2004). Runs really fasy with no issues so far. To get it to install I had to remove the bodhi-slideshow when running live boot before installing to HD. This took a bit of finding in this forum - it could be put in a sticky post somewhere as this could put people off installing (although exactly the same install failure happens with Lubuntu unless their slideshow is removed) Once installed I did have to reboot my router to get any DNS service when using a wired connection.(Laptop doesn't have wireless!) Overall this seems a great distro. Its running MUCH faster that Ubuntu 10.04 LTS was on this old machine. Mmm I now have 2 nm-applet icons. Hey, now there are 3! I foolishly right clicked it in the menu and it added another! - Oh well not serious, they all behave in sync! Roger
