ylee; I don't trust suits either. I never wear a tie. (joke; why managers and ceo's are make so stupid discisions, because thier ties are so tied and cutoff the blood flow to thier brains.) But you have to have a kind of standard so all team members feel comfortible. In my company we have not a suits culture, only the ceo┬┤s and upper management in official meetings or when they visit customers or partners.

Like you said not all college students are like that. I can only speak of the netherlands It goes wrong at home and school, kids are more spoiled then in the 80's or 90's for example and college these days is crap. I've one junior in my software development team, he comes from the same college (MBO application development) as the boy friend of one of my doughters. Same stories from both, no teachers available for lessons half of the time, they have to solve projects completely alone. It's a mess. Today it is the good people in the business that helps these youngsters to grow in their career.

You can politely tell him that it is better for his career, just give him some hints, good advice in a positive way. May be it helps.

    Database applications for Linux

CherryTree is nice to manage all kinds of collections. $ sudo apt-get install cherrytree For web I use MySQL with phpMyAdmin to manage the databases. Sqliteman is a small manager to create SQLite databases.

    Theme fixing

Great work. I love the bling bling theme. That was one of the reasons I got interrested in Enlightenment, great looking themes, something different.

So Far harvest season has been extremely good

Off topic... but I know Tannoys and Cantons sound great.... but if you have the skills try to build your own monitors. I use Tang Band full range units, they sound amazing, very life like, like if the band sits in your room and lots of fine details.

    Jobs and stuff

Lead software engineer / scrum master, most of the time programming with C# .NET, HTML, CSS and Java ME for embeded devices. The latest 8 months I learned to work with Typescript (Angular 4, don't use it, it's piece of crap!). I work for a company that is responsible for monitoring and control of +/- 3000 pump stations in the netherlands. Supervisory control and data acquisition from pump stations used in sewer systems, water treatment and land drainage. For hobby I program with Javascript, PHP and Python. And I'm studying psychology. End next year I hope to the get a degree. In the future I hope to make a career switch.

Great to read you had a good harvest. We had a good harvest too, not much, we have a small garden. This year we have beets, parsnip, turnip, spinash, vigs, raspberries, strawberries, prunes, tomatoes (3 different kinds), courgette, cucumber and herbs: sage, oregano, mint (5 kinds), thyme, lemon balm etc... Lots of peppers jalapegnos and habaneros, we make our own sambal and pica (habanero peppers with unions in vinegar). And prune jam: http://www.smartduck.nl/index.php?controller=post&action=view&id_post=5
