    hibernate again please

thanks, helpful link. Installation is finished but not working. I have also added the file com.ubuntu.enable-hibernate.pkla in /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/ but no effekt. I've tried than to install the recommended fdutils linux-doc-3.2.0 linux-source-3.2.0 linux-tools (they where recommended before installing tuxonice) but get the following message: Package linux-doc-3.2.0 is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source E: Package 'linux-doc-3.2.0' has no installation candidate I give it up but would like to know what is Bodhi missing that makes Lubuntu working hibernation with tuxonice?

    hibernate again please

Hi, relating this thread I continue with a new as topic is different: http://forums.bodhilinux.com/index.php?/topic/12562-upgrade-to-3-or-manual-work/ finally I could check the hibernate mode with a lubuntu system on another hard drive on my Fujitsu-Siemens laptop and it works fine. I installed tuxonice and tuxonice-userui with the Synaptic Package Manager. Although there was no user-interface and no entry anywhere but it worked with the command line sudo pm-hibernate. Then I was going to install tuxonice on my Bodhi with Synaptic but tuxonice is not available there, only tuxonice-userui which is just an interface, not the program. I had reloaded Synaptic before searching it. I tried also 'sudo apt-get install tuxonice ' but got only: E: Unable to locate package tuxonice Is there a way to get it? Or is there another way to enable it? My hardware works for hibernate. Thanks.

    network manger totaly wrong

    network manger totaly wrong

The network manger in Bodhi makes big problems . with a new sim card I can just be online for a few minutes. after a few minutes the connection changed to EDGE (like credit would have been used almost fully) and quickly no connection at all is possible anymore. First I thought there is some thing wrong with the billing ‘plan’ as I had the same problem with a Vodafone SIM before but now also with Airtel. (India) Now I’m using a Lubuntu Life system and ... no problems at all. I get connection immediately. So whats wrong with the network manager ? I can not use it any more, what a pity it is the end of Bodhi as I have only mobile internet.

upgrade to 3 or manual work ?

I am sorry had no time answer this sooner but need help. I have tried pm-hibernate in terminal: a black screen with a message appeared, some like 'device not accepted' the laptop turned off. After opening the lid again it turned on automatically but Bodhi booted from the beginning. BTW in the meanwhile I had extended my RAM from 2GB to 4GB but swap partition is still the same size. I am aware I have to fix this at first, works probably only with gparted; but what about the message 'device not accepted' is it only du to RAM size? --- I am sorry to say the last answer is not really a good one: The advantages of hibernate mode has nothing to do with boot time, there are much more important advantages. (BTW my Bodhi is not really booting fast anymore) But anyway after hibernate: every application is still present again, like a workshop I had left and next morning everything looks the same as before and it is clear whre to continue. Online problem: here in India where I am just volunteering we have some times network problems (can't be online always). All the tabs in Firefox which where displayed online once are displayed again after hibernate mode even if computer is not online - But if Firefox boots again and there is no network connection than Firefox shows only the stupid message : “Server not found” In case of power cut (which are also regular in India) no data’s are lost unlike in Suspend-To RAM Beside these advantages the hibernate mode saves a lot of drive usage as for ordinary booting a hard drive will be much more stressed.

upgrade to 3 or manual work ?

OK, same old subject: is there a way to make the Hibernate mode working for Bodhi 2.4 ? The network manager prob is a minor one; i just must not forgett to disconnect before closing the lid.

upgrade to 3 or manual work ?

Hi everyone, for some particular reasons (which I can explain if wished I relay would like make working the Hibernate mode for Bodhi now. Also the network manager is making problems with mobile internet connection sometimes (after suspend mode device doesn’t appear what is very inconvenient if one uses the inbuilt slot under the battery case). Still I'm using version 2.4 and thinking the easiest way to solve both is maybe tu upgrade Bodhi to version 3. (there is also a third reason : long time ago since a virtual machine exceeded the drive space many of my icons got lost and even by installing a new icon set there where no icon-set in “Settings > All >Look > Application-theme > icons tab”) Is the Hibernate mode working in Bodhi 3 ? (I'am using an Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook E-Series) Is there a new network manager ? And what about all the installed programs, will they remain by upgrading? Especially virtual-box and Apache web-server ? Thank for your time

    strange behaviour of sound control

Well, I'll have all this in mind. Now, (the next day) the prob is gone; I did nothing Software playing together creates its own life – actually like in nature

    strange behaviour of sound control

Thanks Jeff, indeed when I paste pulseaudio in synaptic 11 lines appear under 'installed' . I had installed Audacious and SM-Player. When I (complete) remove pulseaudio will it have effect on functionality of this Audiosoftware?
  12. Hi, the sound control of Bodhi has already for a long time a weird behaviour. It changes settings by it self and sometime there was no sound at all. Right now there is no volume control any more, only full power (the sliders are still there but has no effect, neither in the master nor in Audacius Audioplayer) the entries in the Channels tabs of the Mixer settings changed just by it itself, I made no update of anything. There is only the output channel, before there where many channels. Is there a way to get control of that ?
  13. Oh Charles again, thanks - its always a pleasure to see your smile
  14. Oh, thanks a lot BALLOON … that worked out easily now British spell-check is now working too but I am not sure whether it came from libreoffice4.1-dict-br or libreoffice4.1-en-gb which I installed also. the spell-check language change is a bit tricky in LO as its hidden under Key F7 and not in the tool- or extra menu which I always used BTW I tried to mark this as [solved] but could not find the option any more
  15. Hi there, although I installed (weeks ago) the german-language pack libreoffice-l10n-de (also another British module) for LibreOffice the only language setting for the interface is default US. It worked already (after the last procedure) but since the last Bodhi upgrade LO-Writer has obviously no connection any more to the language pack. That time I was told to install libreoffice4.0-l10n-de (instead of libreoffice-l10n-de) but its not in synaptic. I just reinstalled libreoffice4.0-dict-de but that didn't helped. Also I had installed a British spell-check module but it's not appearing in Writer. For hunspell there is only -en-ca and en-us (both I have installed) but there is only US and German in the spell-check setting. Is there a British spell-check-module working in LO?
