    enable shutdown from Start menu

I am experimenting with adding users via terminal (as Bodhi does not have all GUI facilities that full Ubuntu install has). I cannot enable the shutdown/restart buttons enabled for a new user account, they are greyed out. I have tried sudo adduser <account name> sudo, but that does not do it. Maybe that is not the crucial command.....

    Printer support package

No roll back option in Grub. Removed Dropbox and Opera, but that made no difference, so am reinstalling. It's a learning curve. Thanks for the advice, I will proceed with more caution......

    Printer support package

I haven't (intentionally) been messing with the kernel. uname -a produces this is where my knowledge falls off the cliff!! I am basically a GUI user and have no idea what this means. I will try rolling back (not done that before), but if I have to re-install that's not a big deal. I am just trying to reinvigorate an older laptop. I have 2 more - on one I have successfully installed Printer support, then my Canon linux printer and scanner drivers, it all works fine. I will install other programs more cautiously from now on......

    Printer support package

I have not added any third party PPAs or repositories per se, but have installed Opera browser, Audacity, Dropbox from the terminal or .deb packages. The output from sudo apt-get -f install is lengthy!!

    Printer support package

I cannot get my Canon printer drivers to initialize (they are successfully working on my Mint laptop). I don't think that the Printer support software from the Appcentre is installed properly. Although I get a success message, the terminal reports that dependencies are not met - try sudo apt-get -f install. I cannot find any Printer control window in the Applications menu anywhere. When I try this I get a message that I may be attempting something harmful, type 'Yes, do as I say!' to continue. I have tried this several times but the process just aborts. Any advice here please.......?

    Places gadget & Minimize icon

OK, sorted now - I took the Tasks gadget off the the bottom pane (still don't know what to call it - its a shelf isn't it?). That displays the active windows of course. I put it back - now I can restore my minimized program windows! I cannot grab the wi-fi icon, the left-click and right-click display the same menu (ie network connections options), but then it is not listed under gadgets, so perhaps it is not a gadget(?) I like the windows roll-up (shade) facility. Just going to find out what an ibox is now.......

    Places gadget & Minimize icon

After a little more experimenting I have placed the Places gadget on the desktop. Yes it looks good there, it obviously doesn't fit on a shelf! Here is link to image in imgur.com http://imgur.com/a/Dhjkg. I am using Radiance theme. I have changed theme back to default but still cannot get a minimized program window, it does seem just to close down and disappear....

    Places gadget & Minimize icon

I have really odd icon for the Places gadget I have added to my shelf (Not sure if this image on DropBox will display - I can see it by right clicking and opening in a new tab.) Clicking on the faint 'home icon' to the left displays the Home folder in PCManFM. Clicking the image of the 'lower part of a computer screen' displays the root folder and clicking the fragment that looks like a 'battery charge indicator' to the right does nothing! This is not how the Places gadget icon should appear or function I'm sure. Another oddity that I can't work out is that the minimize icon on program windows seems to close the program completely. Though as Moshka doesn't have a standard task pane/bar perhaps I need to set something up to display icons of minimized programs(?) thanks....

    ibar (taskbar panel)

I fixed this by installing afresh - well, I'd only just started.....

    File manager

Thank you so much. I did try to install PCManFM from the Bodhi AppCentre, however it was already installed. I tried to choose it in the settings, but got an error message that it could not be used or loaded. I decided to completely install Bodhi again, so everything is ok. I am trying out Bodhi on a Toshiba Satellite Pro - rather left behind now in terms of computing power. I have tried full Linux installations (Mint - my particular favourite - Ubuntu and Zorin), but it struggles. Bodhi is lightweight but looks very stylish and so far is running really well - I am impressed. It is great to know there is a responsive forum to turn to. No doubt I shall be back here soon with another issue to resolve.....

    ibar (taskbar panel)

I have made my ibar (taskbar panel) transparent. Despite getting an error message it has become invisible, thought the application links are still there and work. How can I restore its original appearance? I must stop messing about with settings I do not yet understand!!!

    File manager

I have managed to disable the file manager, when I click Menu>Places>Home a warning message is displayed along the lines - Enlightenment Filemanager cannot be run, choose a custom filemanager. I have been exploring (messing with) settings!! How do I fix this? thanks
