@ Reuben

The simplest way to start compton and its daemon is adding

sleep 5 && compton -b

to the file:

~/.e/e/applications/startup/startupcommands

The -b option enables the daemon. I've added 5 seconds sleep so it does not interfere with other startup processes

For a working config file search the forum for "tearing". @"The waiter" gave good tips there.

Enjoy,
Charles

@Jeff, I started playing with Compton earlier today. I still haven't figured out how to make the daemon autostart properly.

Just curious is Compton in the Bodhi repo?

Just curious is Compton in the Bodhi repo?

apt-cache search compton
compton - compositor for X11, based on xcompmgr

So, yes it is. Only one command away:

sudo apt-get install compton

Enjoy,

Charles

As always. Simplicity wins.

well sometimes you need some indicator to let you know that your startup completed normally, and your desktop is ready for your first move. Dark theme, but not totally black

My current desktop is shown in imgur, in this forum as well
